A seminar on 'Display illumination and backlighting technologies' will be held on 31st May 2007 at The Mansion, Bletchley Park. Displays are taking commonplace in society today and it has become an accepted item of everyday life from mobiles to computers and development towards e-paper technology.
Each display technology has its own challenges and with the market demanding smaller, larger, brighter, conformable/nonconformable displays with better resolutions this is leading the way new developments within the illumination and backlighting arena.
The traditional technologies of cold-cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFLs), incandescent are making way to lighting emitting diodes and electroluminescent and much more.
The event will cover: an overview of current industry technologies and future movements; microstructured solid LC films; high brightness light engines; diffuser films for backlights; low energy lighting for outdoor applications; and reflective displays for improved brightness and illumination.
