A flexible new system is ideal for hot-bar soldering of small volumes Luxeon emitter terminals. Luxeon is a revolutionary, energy efficient and ultracompact new light source, combining the lifetime and reliability advantages of light emitting diodes with the brightness of conventional lighting. Based on Ivas Tech's successful experience with PLM series pick and place machines, the company has succeeded in developing a system for simultaneously dispensing, placing and soldering these sensitive diodes.

Thanks to linear-motor-driven x and y movement, the HBSM offers reliable, accurate and precise application process combining high throughput and low changeover time.

Due to its modular construction, the HBSM can be used as both a pick and place machine and a hot bar solder.

With a simple readjustment to the z-axis, users can easily mount the two soldering tips.

Both the soldering temperature and the pressure are adjustable in order to generate a high energy density in a short timeframe and to prevent open soldering joints.

The special nozzle ensures a damage-free pickup process and holds the component firm yet steady during placement and soldering.

These features make the HBSM a cutting edge solution for small/mid-size production facilities.
