Farnell and Analog Devices (ADI), a provider of semiconductors for signal processing tasks, plan to host a webinar entitled 'Designing Power Supplies for High-Speed Analogue-to-Digital Converters'.

With a focus on ADI's digital data converters, the hour-long online seminar will take place on 26 August at 16:00 CET and will comprise a 45-minute online presentation followed by a 15-minute question-and-answer session.

The event, to be presented by Rob Reeder, senior convertor applications engineer at ADI, is targeted at electronic design engineers and students who want to keep up to date with all the latest technologies in this sector.

The full session will: look at why power supplies are important to analogue-to-digital converters (ADCs); define the power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) power supply design guidelines and provide suggestions; and deliver the latest product and application updates from ADI.

Participants will also gain an understanding of how Element14, Farnell's online e-community for design engineers, can support information sharing and technology collaboration.

Reeder said: 'The quality of the power supply should be a key consideration in high-speed ADC IC applications.

'The noise contribution of the supply directly affects the dynamic performance achieved by the converter stage.

'This presentation will provide an in-depth look inside the ADC's supply pins, analyse the impact of supply ripple on converter performance, define power-supply-related specifications and provide layout and application guidelines for achieving optimum supply voltages,' he added.

Webinar participants will have the chance to win an ADI AD6645-105/PCBZ evaluation board worth USD200 (GBP129).
