DC/DC convertors save
space and minimise emissions
C and D Technologies has launched a range of wide input DC/DC convertors that will minimise emissions in applications requiring dual positive/negative voltage outputs and up to 7.5W of output power
C and D Technologies has introduced a new generation of wide input DC/DC convertors that will save space, reduce component count and minimise emissions in applications requiring dual positive/negative voltage outputs and up to 7.5W of output power. Housed in a five-sided metal case, the NDX DC/DC convertor series offers a choice of nominal input voltages of either 24V or 48V, allowing a total input range of 18V to 36V and 36V to 72V respectively.
An industry standard five-pin arrangement allows for drop-in replacement in existing designs.
For each voltage input, +/-12V and +/-15V output options are available, with an unbalanced loading capability ensuring maximum design flexibility.
Typical load regulation is specified at 0.2%, while nominal noise ratings are just 50mV (peak-to-peak).
In addition to their wide input capability, the NDX devices enable component count reduction through onboard continuous short circuit protection and a remote on/off feature that allows the convertors to be powered down via TTL inputs.
Devices in the NDX series measure only 32 x 25 x 10mm, giving a power density of 0.94W/cm3.
Isolation is rated at 1kV DC and efficiency levels are in excess of 81%.
All devices in the series have an operating temperature of -40C to +85C.
In order to ensure maximum reliability C and D Technologies has not employed electrolytic capacitors in the NDX design.
