?Serdes?

An Electronicstalk guide

Start with the news release Xilinx FPGAs feature optimised jitter performance from Xilinx, which we summarised at the time by saying "Xilinx has announced the availability of Virtex-6 HXT FPGAs optimised for applications that require ultra-high-speed serial connectivity. ". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release PCI Express RC Lite supports bridging functions from Lattice Semiconductor: "Lattice Semiconductor has released the PCI Express Root Complex (RC) Lite solution based on the LatticeECP3 and LatticeECP2M FPGAs for use when bridging applications to any legacy host bus.".

In October 2010, we covered the news from Kontron - take a look at Kontron develops packet processor for 4G networks which says: "Kontron has unveiled its second generation of AdvancedMC packet processor modules for 4G network applications, which features the Cavium Networks Octeon II CN6335 MIPS64 six-core processor. ".

Take a look also at the news release from Lattice Semiconductor, Demonstration platform supports Serial RapidIO 2.1, as well as Blocker board redirects airflow in VPX systems from Elma Electronic, and VPX Backplane targets military applications from Elma Electronic.
