An Electronicstalk guide
Start with the news release QDR and DDR SRAMs for reducing power consumption from Cypress Semiconductor, which we summarised at the time by saying "Cypress Semiconductor has announced Quad Data Rate (QDR) and Double Data Rate (DDR) SRAMs at 36-Mbit and 18-Mbit densities, for networking use in medical imaging and military signal-processing.". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release High slew-rate option for power supplies from Magna-Power Electronics: "Power supply expert Magna-Power Electronics has released a high slew-rate output option to meet the demands of fast-performance DC applications such as battery charging and photovoltaic emulation.".
In December 2010, we covered the news from Maxim Integrated Products - take a look at VGA for wireless infrastructure transceivers which says: "Maxim Integrated Products has introduced the MAX2062, a fully programmable, multistate, dual-channel, analogue and digital IF/RF variable-gain amplifier suitable for automatic gain control circuits.".
Take a look also at the news release from Allegro Microsystems, Sensor IC withstands harsh automotive environments, as well as Tektronix offers architecture for PCI Express 3.0 from Tektronix, and Carling switches target transportation industry from Master Distributors.
TFT LCD targets display instrument applications (December 2010)
Saelig has introduced SGD 24-M, a customisable, high-contrast 2.4in TFT LCD colour display with built-in touch screen, dual analogue inputs and alarm outputs to suit a range of display instruments.
Bench-top oscilloscopes ideal for students (December 2010)
Saelig has launched two bench-top oscilloscopes - PDS8102T and PDS8202T - that are suitable for design, maintenance and laboratory use.
Precision USB oscilloscope for scientific use (December 2010)
Saelig has introduced the PS4227, a two-channel 100MHz precision USB oscilloscope with a real-time sampling rate of 250MSa/s that is suitable for general, scientific and field-service use.
Hall-sensor IC for low power HMI applications (December 2010)
The AS5013 contactless magnetic encoder IC monitors the displacement of a magnet incorporated in a knob relative to its centre position and provides X and Y position information via an IC interface.
High-temperature data-transmission system unveiled (December 2010)
Cissoid has unveiled RHEA, a high-temperature data-transmission solution with galvanic isolation of 2.5kV and operating reliably from -55 to 225C.
Vandal-resistant switches enable access control (December 2010)
Bulgin's MPI range of illuminated vandal-resistant switches are said to be ideal for access-control and door-entry applications.
DC switch disconnectors for PV applications (December 2010)
A range of DC switch disconnectors and string boxes for photovoltaic (PV) applications is available from Switchtec.
CPLDs suited for portable wireline applications (December 2010)
Altera's Max V device range is suited for general-purpose and portable designs in wireline, wireless, industrial, consumer, computer/storage, automotive, broadcast and military applications.
Analogue switches suit audio, video and data
High-voltage analogue switches combine extremely low on-resistance and low leakages with a compact size.
Analogue switches cut resistance to signal quality
Low-voltage dual and quad SPDT analogue switches provide ultralow, flatter on-resistance, resulting in better signal quality in battery-powered, portable and handheld equipment.
